This bus made a shocking unscheduled stop – after crashing through a wall into a pensioner’s garden.
Five people were injured when the single-decker bus became wedged between the side of the house and a wall in Walsall, West Mids.
The 18-tonne vehicle collided with a car at a busy junction on Monday morning, before being sent hurtling into a nearby garden.
Gran June Thomas, 65, had been putting her bins out just seconds before the 30ft long bus came ploughing through her wall, fence and hedges at around 11.15am.
The car driver was trapped in his vehicle before being freed and taken to Walsall’s Manor Hospital but was unhurt.
Three passengers on the bus, two females and one male, were also treated for minor injuries.
Ms Thomas said: ‘I’ve just heard this terrific noise, like nothing I’ve ever heard before.
‘When I opened the back door I could just see the bus there, exactly where I had been. It really upset me.’
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to the scene on Monday afternoon.
He said: ‘The bus driver, a man in his 50s, was treated for a shoulder injury.
‘Three passengers on the bus, two females and one male, were also treated for minor injuries.
‘All the patients were conveyed to Walsall Manor for further assessment.
‘The driver of the car and bus, along with three passengers on board were taken to hospital.’
